Connecting Despite Difficult Circumstances

In their book, "How to Build a Lasting Marriage", Elmer and Ruth Towns suggest that when facing difficult decisions, couples should (page 94):

Know you are a part of God's plan on earth
Not try to find the easy way out
Claim God's grace and guidance
Commit the results to God

And to always think "big-picture" (page 97):
Amazing things happen when you look to God
When you look to God, you'll begin to see God's purpose for your life
Remember that God is a problem solver
