Having two sons, 10 and 7, means we have lots of fun conversations in our home. Here are some more:
After Field Day (back in May)-
Me: Parker, what ribbons did you bring home today? A blue and a white?
Parker: I got 3. One blue, one red, one white.
Me: What did you get the red one for?
Parker: Second.
Me: Right, I meant what event.
Turner: (Answering a question) Hello?
Me: Turner, you sounded kind of sassy when you said "Hello" like that?
Turner: Is that good or bad?

More Parkerisms and Turnerisms
Having two sons, 10 and 7, means we have lots of fun conversations in our home. Here are some more:
I'd parked my car in the driveway but needed to pull it into the garage-
Turner: Can I ride with you Daddy?
Me: Just to pull it in?
Turner: Yes.
Me: Okay, come on. Hey, do you want to sit in the front seat, without your booster seat, just to pull in?
Turner: How about I sit in the driver's seat...because I can drive this baby?
Me: No.
On the way out the door to school-
Tonya: You need to do something about your hair.
Parker: I did. I slept on it.

Great Quote Thursday
I used to be afraid of failing at something that really mattered to me; but now I'm more afraid of succeeding at things that don't matter- Bob Goff

Raising two sons, 10 and 7, means we have lots of fun conversations in our home. Here are some more:
Turner: If I were a word, I'd want to be a long word.
One I missed from this spring-
I had just mowed early in the season and the next morning there was an outbreak of dandelions in our front yard. This conversation occurred on our way to school that morning-
Parker: It looks like it snowed dandelions in our yard last night.
Then as we prayed for the day on the way to school-
Parker: "...and I pray that the dandelions will go away in the rain..."
To which Turner then added in his prayer-
Turner: "...and that the dandelions will go into other yards and make lots of yellow flowers".

Raising two sons, 10 and 7, means we have lots of fun conversations in our home. Here are some more:
Me: You guys need a haircut. You're starting to look a little shaggy.
Parker: I like my hair.
Me: But I thought you liked your hair to be cut short like mine. I don't mean the bald spots.
Parker: I wish I had hair like yours. I'd like for people to see more of my head.
Discussing sin and forgiveness-
Tonya: Turner, what are your sins?
Turner: I've done a lot of them. I can't name them all.

Great Quote Thursday
Yesterday's remarkable is today's really good and tomorrow's mediocre- Seth Godin
Point for the Day- Seasons of Marriage (Fall #6)
How long a couple has been married does not necessarily determine the season their marriage is in. Some couples have been married less than a year but are already headed toward Winter. By contrast, other couples have been married for decades and are still enjoying Summer.
When Fall is on its way...or already here:
Couples experience a distance (of their own making) between them and God- Genesis 3:7, 8
When a couple is out of fellowship with God, they run or hide from Him. This only leads to Winter in their marriage.

Point for the Day- Seasons of Marriage (Fall #5)
How long a couple has been married does not necessarily determine the season their marriage is in. Some couples have been married less than a year but are already headed toward Winter. By contrast, other couples have been married for decades and are still enjoying Summer.
When Fall is on its way...or already here:
Couples begin to do things they'd never do- Genesis 3:6
When you find yourself considering things that you once said you'd never do, you're headed for trouble. When you're open to things you used to deem as questionable, you're headed for a fall.

Point for the Day- Seasons of Marriage (Fall #4)
How long a couple has been married does not necessarily determine the season their marriage is in. Some couples have been married less than a year but are already headed toward Winter. By contrast, other couples have been married for decades and are still enjoying Summer.
When Fall is on its way...or already here:
Couples begin to question what they used to know- Genesis 3:5
God had always provided His best for Adam and Eve. But they were willing to question His care for them. They knew better but were willing to leave that door cracked ever so slightly. It led to their fall.
